Enjoy the show!!

Well, I would not call it a show, this is actually central informative programme (Dnevnik - daily news at 19.30). Here's the link http://www.hrt.hr/?id=enz&tx_ttnews[cat]=119, you can see short piece about Pogues starting at 24:50 and see James and Sipder talking with the journalist in their hotel. Darryl was there too. Since this is actually political programme, news about pop-culture rarely find its place in it. But, like I said two months ago, we like Pogues here in Croatia. Show is, according to my informations, sold out.
Thanks.

Thanks a lot. Nice one. Though my Croatian is very bad ;o)

You are welcome. I wonder what will guys do this two days in Zagreb, maybe Philip could give us some info. I hope someone will drive them to the sea for a swim. It's damn hot this days in the city, we have 35C for a whole week.

Maybe some croatian whale fisheries or just a Fiesta on the sunnyside of the Street...

Not sure if rest of the pirate crew know to swim, just keep away Shane from the sea. See you tomorrow ;)

But sorry, I can't understand, why everybody say, Shane is/was in great shape...
What is "in great shape" in your opinion??
He is an ill man wiht pathological moves, his voice is fucked up and every two oder three songs, he need a break....
Yes, he ist not fallen down, and he is not so drunk than 1995 in pinkpop festival, of course...

But in great shape?
Look at Iggy Pop, for example, HE is in great shape!

Best regards!

Hallo Andreas, hello to all the others. Please forgive me, when I answer to Andres in German, but my english is not good enough to explain, what I write in German now:

Hai Andreas,

Bud

Hi Bud,

thank you for trying to explain "planet Shane" to us. Some bits are great but some bits are just rubbish. However, I know where you are coming from but better do not believe everything that's written in the German press (well, ANY press). I have already written to the paper in question because they need to set things right.

Hi Ingrid, could you explain what you mean? Because I am interested, I don't know so much about Shane and his history, but I'm interested to know what you mean.

Thanks for The explanation Bud. I reviewed the show on my website in Bonn - http://3songsbonn.com/2011/07/09/the-po ... -everyday/

I was surprised how highly the show was rated by fans on this forum but your explanation has helped me understand. Someone at the concert asked me if Shane had had a stroke (Schlaganfall). Where did you hear this? The General Anzeiger Newspaper said it – but I never saw it anywhere else. I have to say I admire you Pogues fans for sticking by Shane
And, as I mention in my review, I hope he appreciates it too.

yeah, the guy from demorgen.be didn't really know what hit him and judging by his remarks (koka-kola by the clash?) not a really big music enthousiast...

No, of course not, it was meant ironically. The guy who wrote the article didn't know a thing about The Pogues, not even the song titles.

Hello Johnno,

thanks for your kind reply.
The stroke of Shane is a theorie, which had its sparkle after the gig in Münster last year. My brother (on his first Pogues-Concert), said, (half kidding, half serious), that Shane looked a little bit like a stroke-patient.
So I started to search in the I-net for some facts. I never found really facts yet, but some pictures and articles, which say in sense, that the theorie could be right.
But know I´m very uncertain, If I should carry on, get all together what I´ve found, write it down and finally post it?
Will there be positive effects to Shane, his family, friends and the members of the band? Or will it cause just trouble or, even worse, damage???

You see, I´m not sure what to do now.

Greetings,
Bud
