Hai folks,

how was it in Stuttgart????????Any surprises???? Did they play "Turkish song..."?? If the band was as good as our Football-Ladies vs. France, than it was an amazing evening.

@ Zagreb: I was checked last year in Münster and they didn´t say a word to my camera...

Guest wrote:Hi there,

I was there in Stuttgart yesterday. I am not sure if Shane was drunk or just ill from drinking all the years. Perhaps both drunk and ill. However - compared with some of the recordings on the box set or with some interviews he sang really really clearly, he knew the words, he didn't fall. I was really surprised how well he sang. I would have never expected this. Not just that he is back on stage at all, he is a good singer again. The music was great as I expected it to be but Shane's singing was the cherry on top of a cream cake as we say in Germany, almost Hell's ditch level. Go there and listen - really really impressive. My first Pogues gig ever after having known them for 23 years and it was all worth driving 400 km.

That's great, coz i'll drive 431 bloody kilometers tomorrox :D

Well, it was actually 912 kilometers because i had to go back home :? , but it was worth it. I've been listening for the Pogues almost daily for 20 years now and yesterday the gig was really brilliant. It was the first time i saw them. Shane sang much better than I thought and the whole band was perfect.

Thanks to everyone who've uploaded footage of the German dates to You Tube. I'm delighted for the fans who've been at the shows because, from what I've seen, the performances have been amazing. The footage has reminded me why The Pogues have been my favourite band for over 25 years; on top form there is no-one I've seen to touch them as a live band.............except maybe The Spice Girls!!

Hey Matthew,
"Turkish song..." wasn´t performed....I´m sorry, I didn´t want to put salt in your wound with the "Boys...." :(

Hello from Germany und sorry for my bad English!
I've seen the Pogues in Amsterdam and in my opinion it was a very intense gig wiht a lot of power, especially by the first two songs. I love it.

But sorry, I can't understand, why everybody say, Shane is/was in great shape...
What is "in great shape" in your opinion??
He is an ill man wiht pathological moves, his voice is fucked up and every two oder three songs, he need a break....
Yes, he ist not fallen down, and he is not so drunk than 1995 in pinkpop festival, of course...

But in great shape?
Look at Iggy Pop, for example, HE is in great shape!

Best regards!

The Pogues, or at least some members of the band arrived in Zagreb (I saw James and Spider yesterday evening in the news on croatian television) 48 hours before the show. Welcome, and I hope you'll enjoy your stay in the city. See you tomorrow evening.

Well, I would not call it a show, this is actually central informative programme (Dnevnik - daily news at 19.30). Here's the link http://www.hrt.hr/?id=enz&tx_ttnews[cat]=119, you can see short piece about Pogues starting at 24:50 and see James and Sipder talking with the journalist in their hotel. Darryl was there too. Since this is actually political programme, news about pop-culture rarely find its place in it. But, like I said two months ago, we like Pogues here in Croatia. Show is, according to my informations, sold out.
Thanks.

Hallo Andreas, hello to all the others. Please forgive me, when I answer to Andres in German, but my english is not good enough to explain, what I write in German now:

Hai Andreas,

Bud
