Actually I think he did
Look at the Christmas special clip that Philip posted. It was from the rehearsal.

If the pass is going for 200+, imagine what a hat worn in concert by Mr. Chevron would fetch!

I missed that somehow. Does anybody remember where this clip was posted?

It's a thing of beauty, and remarkably clean-looking for something that's been through a whole tour...
Out of my price range, though.

What annoys me here is that if this is from Shane, it was probably given as a gift and not intended to be sold. Doesnt seem right to profit from a gift.

There's no evidence that this laminate is from Shane (at least one minor clue is that the seller seems unable to spell "MacGowan"). The seller also has copies of set lists, a credential recognition sheet, a used "satin" pass, etc. It seems most likely that this seller knows someone from the production office who arranges for them to have tour material after the tour is complete.

I see no reason to suspect that this is anything other than what it claims it is - left over ephemera from the winter tour. I'd be highly surprised if anyone from the band itself ever touched any of the items.

All very true. Besides which, a used tour laminate, at best a nuisance item on par with the staff ID of a hospital worker, is nobody's idea of a "gift", least of all Shane MacGowan's, who will have lost his on Day One and not been asked to display it at all during the actual tour! Even I only get to flash my laminate about once a tour maximum. Access All Areas laminates are mainly for the benefit of Road Crew who all, of course, look exactly the same.

I did more poking around on this guy, and he's a suspcious seller IMHO. One auction stated "This may be their last tour...". Obviously done to increase the item's value, some people may believe the claim.

Well, he seems legit enough to me, though whether you want to give any more credence to his speculation on the matter of "their last tour" than to the ambiguous messages emanating from the band itself would, I think, have to come under the category caveat emptor.

Well my point is, there is an upcoming US East Coast tour. The item in question was for the UK/Ireland Christmas Tour. Splitting hairs probably. I'm never a fan of memorabelia sellers so i'm bound to nitpick.

Ah yes, but the upcoming tour is "A Parting Glass" not "Farewell Christmas".
