Paddy McCarthy wrote:Phillip,How come on the showtimes thread you said The Pogues would be on stage at 8pm when you actually came on at 9:30ish?.This resulted in us coming out of a pub which was £1.50 a pint to having to drink the foul overpriced rubbish in the academy serves for nearly 2 hours. Bang out of order!.

No-one, least of all Philip, was making you drink the 'foul overpriced rubbish'! You could have bought the bottled stuff (admittedly still overpriced) or held back on the drink till the show was over.

Brian pretty much summed up what I wanted to say to Paddy, although admittedly I might've been less polite.

Although I do think that some people really take having direct contact with a band member for granted. Philip doesn't have to post here at all, nevermind let us know about gigs, stage times and other Pogues related stuff.

BIRMINGHAM tonight

Sparrow onstage 7.15
Pogues expected 8.15
Curfew 10pm

Please note: those of you who have asked to attend an Aftershow, there won't be any tonight. The venue's curfew is enforced because a "disco" takes over the club after we leave the stage. However, you are all, of course and as always, invited to the party in Terry Woods's room later.

"Remember Philadelphia
When the world was young and warm
So in love and living for
Everything new
But I know Philadelphia
The winter wind will slowly take
Your heart and soul until it makes
Nothing of you

And I would lay your body down and rock your tears away
But it’s much too late for now to be like yesterday
And the time is running out and we still have to say
Goodbye"

Really hope this tour is not the Goodbye.

I tip my hat to you.

Ah, can we take from that then that Terry, as 'senior' band member, has the penthouse suite?

Why do they have these curfews? Is it because of local residents (which I can understand)..or just some local council rule?
Last week watching bfch, they didn't start till 10.30pm...finished about 1am...that's more like it!
