March 8th is my birthday, so I'll probably treat myself to the Pogues first day in D.C. for a birthday present. Too bad I can't take my daufghter -- she has the same birthday.

I'll have to line up my spa treatment for that day. Will be taking three days off from work just to do this right.

Thank you Pogues! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
What kind of fuckery is this?

I still don't understand how I happen to miss these announcements until nearly the last minute (sale dates).

I guess I might as well buy tickets, and then see what happens.

Cheers,

Brilliant! The Congress on the 3rd, it is. A road trip for a bunch of winter-weary Canadians, including my daughter for her first Pogues show. Can't wait.

i think it will be wise for new and returning patrons of ARTISTARENA to revist the site to make sure you have your correct password
and account info especially if you have changed your email address --that way you dont shit bullets at the last minute --yeah--it happened to me.....

i really am look forward to seeing all my old friends again--as well as making new ones. Pogues friends are the best kind of friends to have !!!!!!

When I heard Detroit, I didn't expect the suburbs!
Cheers.

That suburb is basically one giant bar/restaurant. Plenty of places to drink (Gusoline Alley among them), get a cheap motel and walk it.

Can't wait, get to see the Pogues in my hometown! Cheers!

Yes, Royal Oak is one giant bar/pub! Hey, this is still the Detroit area, so do not expect much in the way of transportation.

I could not be more fired up for this! The last time they were in the Detroit area with the entire band was on the Peace and Love tour in 1989 in Ann Arbor, and Shane did not make it through the first song (Boat Train).

Yes, Gusoline Alley is right near the theater and a great, blue collar dive with a fantastic juke box and a good bar. It's not a typical Royal Oak bar - it's a hipster suburb and Gus' is more punk rock. Lots of good places to eat and plenty of trendy bars in RO. Hotels are a bit tougher, but there are options. There are a couple hotels near 14 mile and I-75 (Farfield Inn, Marriott, Red Roof Inn) that would be good (10 min drive to the venue) and a couple on Woodward that you may want to avoid. Can't think of any within walking distance of the ROMT but I will do some research. Downtown Detroit has some options too - probably a 20 minute drive.

I'm not a huge fan of the ROMT but haven't seen too many shows there. It's pretty big, mabe similar in size to the Riv in Chicago or the HOB in Boston. Boomy sound at the shows I've seen there, but all on the quieter side. But it will be cool. Just super happy that the Pogues are coming to Detroit!

Hope the Friday show sells out quickly and a Saturday show is added! If anyone needs any help planning travel or killing time around the Motor City don't hesiate to reach out.

Currently no cities are observing EDT
Locations going to EDT later
Current time in New York: Monday, November 22, 2010 at 10:19:05 AM EST
New York will stay on EST until Sunday, March 13, 2011 going to EDT

So do tickets still go on sale at 3:00 pm New York time?

I think you're being a bit technical regarding the time zone. I'm pretty sure they mean the actual time in NY.. but who knows, I could be wrong :)

I saw Gallagher at the ROMT.

The watermelon smashing comedian, not the dude(s) from Oasis.

Anyone know if there's any way to find out the ticket prices ahead of the pre-sale? These are going to be an early Christmas gift from a family member, but I need to know how much to tell them they'll be!!
Have you heard about the big strong man?
