As you can see, opinion is not uniform on the matter. Spider is using the royal "we" here.

Failing that then,

may I appeal to Spider for further explanation of his previous post, namely who 'we' concerns? I'd also enquire as to what has prompted the decision to make the announcement public -e.g. time out - when some band members blatently dispute the notion...?

Just to squeeze in before the eight page debate and argument, recriminations etc

I welcome that the Pogues are mixing it up a bit. I'd hate for them to get bored with things a certain way - I've seen them at Brixton every year since 2005, twice in 2007 when I coached it to Nottingham, and twice in 2009 when I went to Madstock. A few more London summer gigs would be great, as well as a mythical St Patrick's Day thing.

Good that they're thinking about stopping themselves from going through the motions. Not that there's concrete word one way or another.

One thing I like about the Pogues of this century is that things are all out in the open. I'd hate for them to close ranks because of the arguments that honesty causes.

Using the royal We? God forbid a band member would come on these pages and do something like that!

Right, I'm off to pay the plumber.

Public discussion between band members is a refreshing sight. Not that it's new to these pages, I just happen to find it very interesting.

I have enjoyed Belfast and Dublin in previous years and Killarney sounds great for this year. I have checked possible flights. Does anyone know the venue size and when tickets go on sale please? Usually Ireland is not until the end of September and I wouldn't want Brixton to sell out and then find I can't get tickets for Killarney.

Dublin Olympia - Wed 8 and Thur 9 December
Killarney - Sat 11 December

Seeing as I'm restricted to Saturday's due to stupid work commitments. Looks like it's Birmingham and/or Killarney for me. Shame really, Sheffield was brilliant last year as was Brixton and I'd love to have seen you guys at the Manchester Apollo again, as I missed it last year. Obviously this is something that won't happen if this is the last christmas tour (mind you I've seen that said before and you're still doing Christmas tours so I'll believe it when I see it).

Okay, both Brixton dates. Won't miss the probably last chance to see this band and have a great time...hopefully everything will work and I'll be there in time. Cheers!

Mmmmm! The Olympia on a Wednesday and a Thursday. That should guarantee some very sore heads going in to work on the following days. Then again, half the fucking country is unemployed so I could be wrong.

If the chosen venue in Killarney is the INEC it could be a great show. Depending on the configuration, the venue holds up to 3,000 people. Killarney is one hell of a town for session, and provided the publicans don't decide to rape (ie: charge 'Dublin prices') the Pogues fans, it could be a cheaper and better bet than the Olympia.
