i really dont know what to do my dad died on sunday i know he would have wanted me to go but not sure if i would be in the mood and would feel guilty leaving family behind to cope plus the thought of train disruptions etc etc

Deepest sympathies on the loss of your Dad, its a tough call, but it may be best if you don't go, but only you can really make that decision....

Ive got to try and find another train route to london tonight, i hope i can get there . going to be absolutely gutted if i cant.

I went from Geneva to see the show in Birmingham. I was lucky, because my plane wasn't cancelled... for the arrival in Birmingham (for the return it's another story even if I finally found a plane to come back home last night).

I hadn't see the Pogues since ages... and I realize now how much I miss them ! It was a really great show in Birmingham. I hope to see them next year again.

Take care on the ways to the shows. It's really a nightmare for you in the UK. I am happy to be back in Switzerland for that.

Sorry to hear about your loss. You might consider changing your mind if it's not too late. I've been to concerts around times of loss, and I found them oddly comforting. Also, I saw the Pogues the first time during a very unhappy breakup, and it was the absolute highlight of an especially awful year. But I also understand finding it hard to summon up the determination to actually go as well.

Good to hear that most of you enjoyed the christmas shows this year, hope there will be the 2nd Farewell Tour next christmas 'cause this year there was no way for me to come over from Germany to any of the shows! Or maybe another European Tour in summer......

I was at Wednesday's gig and I have to say, I've never been so proud to be Australian as I was when the lads played And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda. I was front and centre, pint in hand, tears streaming down my face. The whole show was simply extraordinary- thankyou so much for an experience I never thought I'd be lucky enough to have.

comprehend your pride very well, although i'm not australian. this song accompanies me for more than twenty years and is currently the favourite lullaby for my eighteen months old son as he not yet able to understand the meaning because of his age and his native language. but the length and the wonderful melody of the song appease him reliably.
so when i came over from germany for the brixton gig on 21st, it was one the highlights of that really great concert and i fulfilled my long lasting dream to see the boys in their country, since i saw them for the first time twenty years ago in essen in december 1990, followed by several times in the early nineties without shane and then last summer in münster.
And now i got another everlasting memory for my life!
