Seems to be a big difference in price in the ticket prices according to the above site . Is £30 + really the cheapest?

Mine for Brum ended up at £36 with all the add ons for a face value ticket of £30. Actually i thought i paid more last year?

Last year ticket price was £29.50. The 2001 shows where £23.50 . My first ever Pogues gig was just £3 and second gig was £4.
So this year wil be the first year prices reach the £30 mark for me.But my original point was that this year prices seem to vary greatly from where you buy them. Some are around the £70 mark.I was wondering if £30 was the best price. I hate being ripped off.
This year the timeing of the gigs will be really bad for me and work .Looks like Man Apollo may be the only one I can get to .Tried to get time off for the others but have been refused. Will really miss Glasgow which has been the highlight of my dull year for a good few years .

If there are seats around the £70 mark, I honestly know nothing about them, but it's possible they are part of some increasingly prevalent "premium" package which would include various other components. They even had these at our show in Moscow, illustrating that the former SU has wasted no time in cottoning on to the more dubious aspects of capitalism.

There is only a limited number of shows we can do each tour. We never "miss" a city, the promoters just put us where they believe the tour can maximise impact and profit, not a small factor in these recessionary times. But I suppose what it comes down to is some cities are more consistently "hot" for The Pogues than others: it's nothing personal.

Although, I have booked tickets for Motorhead and Madness in the Glasgow Academy, and have to ask, have they shut off the seating for good now? I hate seating, but there hasn't been an option for the gigs I've bought tickets for.

I believe the seating area of the Glasgow Academy is in the balcony. Has this changed in recent times? Perhaps they sell the Floor first.

The seats at the Glasgow Academy are indeed situated up on the balcony. When I purchased my tickets for this years concert I was offered balcony seats as well. I think it depends on which ticket agency you buy from. Buying directly from the 02 Academy you will be offered the chance to buy seats.

Don't take this the wrong way but, maybe Motorhead and Madness don't sell enough tickets so the promoter closes off the balcony!?!

I'm glad that the Pogues still cram them in and you can either stand or sit! Depending on how old you are!

Roll on December!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair I moaned on about the pogues coming to Liverpool for years but thought when the band eventually did play the turn out was really poor as was the venue. Therefore you cant blame the promoters for not looking at liverpool

I had wondered if this was the case with Belfast being left out this time, but on their first visit (2007) since reforming in 2001 the show sold out and had to be moved to a much larger venue, the Kings Hall.

Not sure on actual profit/ticket sales etc... but each of the last visits to Belfast have had good crowds, even last year when the show was downsized to St Georges Market it was completley jammed.

Mod or mods, why was my poor little post moved from here? I posted it here in a slight attempt at humour and in the thread you placed it in, it looks like my question is serious!

Was on the computer at 9am on Friday morning, got my tickets all ordered and I'm obscenely excited!! Haven't missed a xmas gig since I turned 16! I'm bringing my fella this year as a surprise for his birthday... He stole my fave Pogues t-shirt last year but he has never been to a gig... going to teach him the wonder of seeing the Pogues live. Did I mention I'm sooooooo excited.... Don't know how I am going to manage to not spill the beans for the next 3 MONTHS!! Anyone got any idea who is going to be supporting act this year?? To be quite honest, would love 3 or 4 hours of The Pogues.... What are the chances?? Lol.

I was wondering the same thing. Strange! :? I know a lot of people that were disappointed there was no Belfast show this year.

Really in the last chance saloon here...I know that if demand is there, an extra show in Dublin or Brixton can be added, so might Belfast still be in with a shout or is Dublin/Killarney the finalised Irish dates ?

My missus is due to have twins early December (selfish %£$&^"!), so travelling isnt an option this year. :(

Mr C ?

I can forsee no circumstances in which shows will be added to this tour. Good luck with the Twins 8)
