To be honest, it's got to the point where, regardless of internal band arguments, the tour pretty much is the last one. I work in a newsroom, it's coming up as showbiz news and it won't be long till the media as a whole start publishing the story. Apparenty you're playing 'seven festive farewell shows this Christmas before going [your] separate ways'. If this isn't true then please please PLEASE set the record straight before it's too late

Because they have all become muslims and no longer recognise Christmas.

Yep its been on X FM a fair amount this morning saying it was the last tour. And how to get tickets etc. Good publicity.

Anyway, I remember Spider saying something similar to this last year or around Paddy's day. :s

Exactly. Band are saying it's the last. Media say otherwise. And it is in the media now. There seems to be no official line other than band members' opinions on the matter

Spider does have a valid point, some of us are not getting any younger, coming away from the 2 European gigs i went to,it made a change not having to wear 10 layers of sweaty clothing. But rest assured, myself and the 10 layers will be on the road[railways actually] in December.See you there guys and gals!

Hey newsroom boy don't get yer kecks in a twist, take a deep breath and flick back a couple of pages and read slowly..Does it say we're splitting up? No it doesn't. And sorry to disappoint but there's absolutely no internal arguments going on, spirits are high in the Pogues camp. Today I read that we were snubbing Liverpool on the xmas tour, a city we apparently have close ties with. Apart from Terry Woods supporting their red team we have absolutely no connection with the city at all. Manchester on the other hand gave us founder members Finer & Fearnley, our management company (of 25 odd years) and Dirty Old Town. Oh yeah, and half the band/crew and aforementioned managers support United. I'm used to shoddy journalism,it flows right over me, I do enough interviews with people who may or may not have run an eye over our shit wikipedia entry but know that Shane likes a drink. Yawn.

And a minor correction, Phil and I don't work for the band. We are the band, along with the other six of course.

Is it just last tour of the year or the band a calling it there last for a few years (To make a new album???) hehe

I seriously would love it if it were there last to have a special live CD or DVD OR BOTH recording of the event for the Occasion!!!

I would advise against even mentioning the very notion of new recordings on here Mac. You risk having heaps of shit and scorn downed upon yourself. It is a perfectly legitimate question you ask. Only people involved with the Pogues could advertise a tour as " The farewell tour " and then say, ( thankfully ), that it doesn't mean the end of the road.

More like snubbing Liverpool because of the shit arena that we made you play in last summer which was all seated or as spider says not snubbing it at all. The media dont let the truth get in the way of a good story. Apparently Ryan Babel was in a helicopter on the way to West Ham yesterday when I saw him in Liverpool City Centre.
