My thoughts exactly, Rich, I still would like NJR to answer my question.
Heather, sorry I was out for the day after my last post yesterday.
The exact quote is ......
"From the Pogues official Myspace:
Regardless of what some German newspapers are saying we are not booked to play any shows in Europe at this time. Offers come and offers go. When we are ready we will come."
As I posted earlier, maybe I'm overly sensative? I'm not looking to make this a big deal. I was asking if anyone felt the same way I do. When I read the quote the first time I felt quite dismayed.
I preface again as this is only my opinion. Some say opinions are like .... well you know, everyone has one. I feel the writer has a chip on his shoulder. I took the statement as ....."yes we know you want to see us, we get so many offers we can play anywhere, at anytime and we know you'll come out and fill the venues. Don't get your hopes up for anything anytime soon. When I'm good and ready I'll grace you with my presence."
Now this opinion wasn't formed on just the statement posted here. As I visit the page often along with others, it's what I see as a tone through out the bulk of the posters comments. What wasn't posted here was another post on the MS page where a fan asked the band to "Come back to the States, Please" The comment to this was "I'm beginning to feel a bit more ready" Seeming to make this a singular decision, and hesitation rather then a collective one. Again just my opinion. I could post twenty more comments that to me seem to have an egde to them.
I mean after all there are fans that are hanging on every post hoping that summer tour dates will be announced, I see them everyday. I can see how you might not read as much into the comment. All I'm saying is maybe the poster could be a bit less flipant. I fully accept that this may be more my issue then any other fans as not everyone may not be as cynical as I am.
