Sorry, Alex, I have to disagree ...

I guess Hannover is unlikely, but Hamburg would be a brilliant choice ... :D

A Hamburg show in Autumn would be better, as long as it is arranged on a weekend that St Pauli are playing at home, sounds like a good weekend away for me.

Last weekend I saw an advert in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that the Pogues are
playing the Hanau Amphitheater on 10. August

True ?

Regards, Carsten

We are looking at the possibility of some shows in Germany in early August, but Frankfurt is not one of them at this point.

That's great news...would be perfect !

Really great to hear that The Pogues are considering the possibilities for some shows in Germany! In august there is also the Pinkpop Classic festival in the Netherlands. Should be really great! Philip: is this also maybe an option?

Nothing is an option until it's confirmed, sorry. 8)

Yeah, listen up folks, don't make travel plans until it's 110% confirmed. Remember St. Patrick's night, we were warned.

From the Pogues official Myspace:
Regardless of what some German newspapers are saying we are not booked to play any shows in Europe at this time. Offers come and offers go. When we are ready we will come. (link)

I dont know maybe I'm being overly sensative here but is there a reason the writer always seems so flippant?

So it means no German gigs, doesnt it? Would like to hear something from Philip now. Though his silence is more expressive than any "sorry, guys".
Good to have much more talkative (and less finical) Spider around, he seems doesnt mind to bring bad news.

If you read page one of this thread, Philip actually stated that they were only looking into the possibility of playing some gigs in Germany. He never said that they definitely were.

Agreed Heather, but do you agree the quote from the MS page is a little condesending to the fans?
