few questions about drammen concert, i ll try to make that although norway is, let say, "pretty" expensive amd i ll have to travel whole europe to get there

is it open air concert or hall?
how many ppl can attend in/on union scene?

anyone know the cheapiest accomodation available in drammen?? best i ve so far is hostel for 450NOK

I`m not from Drammen, but Oslo is only 30 mins on the train away. Union is a great venue just by the river a short walk from the trainstation. I think it`s an old dock or something. The actual concert venue is indoors with capacity app 650 pax. But the bar has an outdoor area. Cool place. 450,- nkr for a hotelroom isn`t bad by Norwegian standards. It`s possible to stay in Oslo and go out there by train if you find something cheaper in the Capital. But I don`t think there will be much to save on it. The Euro is weakend agains NKR, good for us, bad for you. If you`r e from a EU country, that is.

capacity is only 650? huh, i doubt that there will be tickets when i ll be sure will i be able to attend it (in some 10-14 days).

so 450NOK is OK. i thought so, i ll probably go for that one then

Hi. I actually live in Drammen and will be attending this show. It will actually be my 5th Pogues gig since last years Drammen gig. Will see you in Amsterdam this year as well. Nevertheless, Union has the capacity of 1300 people, NOT 650 as mentioned earlier. It is an old paper factory, and is according to the guys who work there a leading venue in Norway. Personally I have a only had good experiences with Union, and hopefully this will be another one. As mentioned there is a good lace outside where you can enjoy a beer and a smoke or so. Unfortunately you won't be able to see the concert from there. Drammen is (as the rest of Norway) quite expensive. You can be prepared to pay a minimum of 6 euros for a pint of beer, and a minimum of 10 euros for a shot of whiskey or so... I can't wait to se Shane, Phil and the lads again, and I must ask the very same question as last year, How do you guys find Drammen? (Is it an okay city or...?). And why do you choose Drammen over Oslo (the capital city)? We are honoured to have you here! (Especially when you're ditching Oslo)

Brilliant that they're coming back to Drammen, last years gig was amazing, seeing my favourite band in my hometown was nothing less than magical!

This will be my 10th Pogues gig since... 2007! Hah! Good run. Can't wait!

I am going to see the Pogues on August 27th in Drammen, it's just a few minutes busride from where I live.
I'm can't wait! Last year when they played there (I couldn't make it then) the papers gave them a 6 out of 6, and called it the "concert experience of the year"!

Thank you very much, it's good to finally be here! Indeed you go up to 11! I couldn't believe it when you announced the concert in Norway, I told all of my Pogues friends though, and we'll all be there! Also, the tickets are almost sold out (like last year), so it will be packed, even though the stage isn't the biggest.

Is there any news on which bands support Pogues where ??
Mr. Irish Bastard to in their home town Münster, but what about other cities/bands ??

Personally, I'd be crazy enough to consider flying to Norway if Greenland Whalefishers were to open for Pogues there.

on a more general note: would it not be a nice gesture if Pogues would give local folkbands the opportunity to open for them ??
