There was obviously substantial concern for Shane given Spiders statement...nobody asked you to drop what you were doing.

I don't think I'm alone in saying I'm relieved Shane turned up ok and I certainly don't feel any anger for taking time out of my day.

Thank you all for your concern. Shane did in fact turn up, just three songs late and has been fined accordingly. Spider held the fort admirably up to then and, I must be honest, later in the show too. New Orleans is perhaps not the best place to get lost, but if anyone can get lost there, Shane MacGowan can. We are grateful to the Pogues fan who found him and brought him to the Festival site.

I'm grateful Shane is safe.
I feared the worst and felt especially sad for Spider, the Pogues, and family.
Spider's urgency and concern was evident.
I shook Shane's hand only 2 week's ago after basking in his brilliant performance.

I will lighten up if you will.
