I'd love to see you guys again Mr. Chevron, last time you played here (House of Blues, Boston, MA) was definitely the best show I've seen in a verrry long time. Hopefully we get to see you guys again soon!

With respect, I don't think this band or any other is obligated to announce when they are NOT touring ...

Could be I'm just an apologist and a patsy, but... .

The Rolling Stones have released a statement denying rumours that they will be touring in 2010.

The band have stated that they will not tour this year despite rumours that a tour is to be announced in April.

This also means that the final headline slot at the Glastonbury festival will not be taken up by the band.

The band's statement read: 'Following recent UK media speculation, The Rolling Stones would like to make it clear there are no plans at the moment for the band to tour in 2010.'

Have to agree with Julie.... I hope you guys find it worth the effort to make another tour this way again.

Here are a few suggestions:

1) Write some new music.
2) Write some new music.
3) Write some new music.

1) gig in Amsterdam
2) gig in Cologne
3) gig in Dusseldorf

Never mind the new songs, don´t care about Amsterdam, Cologne or Düsseldorf.
You really should gather your instruments and your well- known setlist and come and visit us in Sweden. You play the UK and the states all the time, I think it´s our turn soon

I completely understand taking a breather, but will there be any US shows this year (coughcoughChicago/Milwaukeecoughcough)? I've been waiting almost 2 years for one that's a more reasonable distance away, ever since my mandolin teacher asked me 'Hey, did you go to that Pogues gig last week?'. I'll never forgive myself.

I bump Joe West if The Pogues want to headline our backyard party here in Dakota come June. SHHH don't tell Joe.

Was a jaw dropping moment was it? That's alright. When Phil and Terry rolled through town in '03 with the Mahones, I had only heard about it the night before, from my sister, who just happened to be in the neighbourhood.

Phil, was it something we said? Something we did or didn't do?
Can't we all still be friends? Will you call?

Ah, lol, we'll see ya next time around!

Cheers,
Coop

Darn, that was a top secret tour, your sister broke a confidence by telling you we were in town. By and large, it was a successful strategy, however: in Toronto, only 15 people turned up. We introduced ourselves individually to all of them.

;)

Well, it wasn't so top secret, considering the day I heard of it, there was a fair sized blurb in the paper about it, which I would've missed had my sister not been on the ball.

The turnout here in Halifax was pretty good for it. Slow to fill, but it did fill reasonably well if I recall correctly. Unfortunately the Mahones haven't played that well since.

Your mention of the TO show reminds me of the first time I ever saw Great Big Sea, perhaps you've heard of them. It was at the pub at Dalhousie University in Halifax on Halloween night. There might've been 20 people there.

Who knew they'd turn out to be as successful as they is? They had to go somewhat mainstream to do it. Problem here is there are hundreds of Irish Bands trying to capitalise on the rare success of only a few acts.
