I will admit to falling into the "taking the Pogues for granted"category...as in Christmas is over, now it's the Pogues in March, then Easter, then summer, etc. etc. etc.

That being said, I will admit that, after a long, hard New England winter, few things coould compare to seeing the lights go out, "Straight To Hell" begin, the Pogues walk out and "Streams Of Whiskey" kick in.

If it is not to be, then I will see y'all in Tipperary...

Yes, yes indeed, the Midwest is an excellent idea. Minneapolis in particular, although First Avenue would never do as in olden days, great venue but too small. How's about the Roy across the river in St. Paul

Alright, so no East coast dates in the USA this Spring, so what will the Pogues be doing with their time away from this side of the World? Any big plans?

Here are a few suggestions:

1) Write some new music.
2) Write some new music.
3) Write some new music.

Mike from Boston wrote:If the Pogues aren't coming in March, come in the summer to Fenway Park. After yesterday's Winter Classic where the NHL Boston Bruins added to the list
of those who played at the hallowed shrine, why not the Pogues. I don't know if any place still in existence that has hosted baseball (Red Sox), football (Patriots), even Scotland's Celtic FC plus concerts from everyone from Stevie Wonder to the Boss. I mean if de Valara could draw 40,000 plus to Fenway in 1919, imagine what a Pogues/Dropkicks concert could do?? :D

That, Michael, is a fine, fine idea you're having.

That's wack. You could've told us in November that New York & the ECUSA wouldn't be happening. Thanks for letting us get our hopes up. Cheers.

With respect, I don't think this band or any other is obligated to announce when they are NOT touring unless they first announced that they WERE and are canceling. Doing a certain set of shows (or region) for several years in a row is never a guarantee by ANYONE of future shows at the same time and place.

Could be I'm just an apologist and a patsy, but... .

Isn't expecting something just because you got it before kinda taking it for granted? Jeez...

Besides which, we hadn't actually decided on our plans in November.

I agree with Corey: suffer through the winter, anxiously awaiting the Pogues show as the first real sign of Spring... Oh well, I think we'll just go to Boston and do a little pub tour, blaring the Pogues all the way!
