That is truly bad luck, Eckhard. Hope the rest of your Christmas holiday turns out better, and that you can make it to Brixton next year.
It seems cruel to add that yesterday was a perfect show.

The Pogues are better than ever.
How much snow do you have in UK?
Up here in Sweden we have about 4 inches snow (10 centimeter) and minus 24 Celsius
But we're used to it

No way.
Here in Gothenburg we have no snow at all. just a fuckin cold weather. wish i could be with you in Brixton as we speak. have a blast
Johan

Typical for people who lives in the BIG cities like Fuckin' Gothenburg or Stockholm, they think they are at the center of everything
Sweden is a loooooong country from Ystad in the south and Kiruna up north, I heard that they had -35 Celsius in Vasterbotten yesterday.
Then they'll take you to Cloughprior and shove you in the ground. But you'll stick your head back out and shout "We'll have another round"

Yikes! That's quite cold, isn't it? Let me see no posts asking when The Pogues will be playing in Vasterbotten.

Thanks. I could not even book us on the 1500 flight, since that was already full with people who wanted to fly yesterday. Shit.

Goddamn snow has thwarted my plans to be at the Brixton show tonight.

First xmas show in 5 years that i haven't been able to make :(
Temperatures of -5 at 6am, coupled with a good 6 inches of the white stuff outside made the 240 mile drive from the north east too much of a hazard. My gig buddy failed miserably to get a train from manchester yesterday, being told to go home and forget about trying to get south by the station staff at Picadilly.

So to the band and everyone else who manages to get there tonight, please raise an extra glass or two for those of us stuck in the provinces.

Bah. Damn weather. It's not going to happen for us. Longish story, but we've been beaten this time by a combination of stuff. :(

Have a great gig, everyone. I'm sure you will. We'll be thinking of you tonight. Raise a glass to those who are absent.

No doubt. I am also not able to make it. I hear that Zuzana and IrishRover will not be there either. :)

Rotten luck gang. Like you said, though: nobody died. Let's keep it that way. Stay safe on those roads!

Thanks, DzM. And quite right. No wrecks and nobody drownded. Just a gig missed, though dammit it is a Pogues gig.

Anyway, have a great time everybody. It will be great. Let's be careful out there.

Tonight I actually wished that the Pogues did not have a Xmas hit but a summer hit instead. The "Annual Summer Tour" would make travelling way easier
