Hi !

I will go to the Friday Dublin Show...Does anybody know if there will be any beers available in the Olympia Theatre or is it just like in RDS, where no beers were allowed in the venue, just in an adjacent area ?

The Olympia has two, maybe three, fully stocked bars.

I'll be at the Belfast show can't wait. Apparently the drink is terrible in St Georges market. 3.50 a pint and its Coors...There's a bar down the street called Ronnie Drew's(Formerly Maguiness's) So I think I'll be going there.

The last time I saw The Pogues (with Shane) play The Olympia was Dec 1990 as part of a charity gig. I think it was called Christmas Rocks For Children. My lasting memory from that night was their performance of 'White Christmas'. I also had the pleasure of witnessing The Pogues minus Shane do two great shows there in 1993. I still have the 'Waiting For Herb' t-shirt from those gigs stashed somewhere. The Olympia is a great venue despite the fact that some of the bouncers are intolerant scumbags. It's a far better place to catch a show than the RDS or The 02 (formerly The Point(less) Depot.

Ella has been doing it for the last few years, I think that she has the job on a fairly permanent basis these days.
