London
£66 (about 75 euro) for two seating tickets. £30 ticket (about 35 euro), £3 service charge (3.50 euro)

Dublin
Fuck..... 122.30 euro for two seating tickets. Unfortunately my friends won't be attending their first Pogues' show. :(

54.80 for the ticket

6.35 PER TICKET service charge :x

I read an interview with Pearl Jam today. They tried to organise a boycott of ticketmaster some years back but were met with silence from the industry and their peers.

I know this is probably outside the band's control (or at least i hope it is) but come on, there's a recession don't ya know.

Its market forces. If the shows are really overpriced, the promotors won't sell the tickets (as happened in Liverpool earlier this year).

Anyone else from Scandinavia going over?

Yes, absolutely yes! I am actually from Drammen and will be going to Dublin from Wednesday to Sunday to experience The Pogues in what I feel is their right envirnment! I'm going with a couple of lads from Drammen as well. How about we meet up in a pub for a pint or ten before the concert?

Wow! It's not that big a town you know. Maybe all our Norwegian fans are in Drammen!

I'm from Drammen as well, and I'm also going to Dublin for all three gigs! Hooking up with Scrapper and his jolly bunch. Friday to Monday for me.

Yes, i understand that. I'm willing to pay because i'm seeing the best live band in an intimate venue and don't mind the premium. i'd pay a 100 a ticket to see them in the Olympia as opposed to the RDS or Point Depot.

It's the casual fan who'll be put off by the price.

Well Mr. Chevron, you'll never know. I actually happened to run into you guys as I was delivering a package to one of those who worked at Union (was a delivery boy that day). Didn't dare to say hello to you dough...How did you guys find Drammen?

It was on a map. Not that we read maps. Well, Darryl does, but not even he reads maps these days, he has a map roadie who does that for him. Apparently it's near Oslo. Not as close as we were led to believe but near Oslo nevertheless. And once we got there, we liked it very much, though the hotel ranks in the Top Ten worst in the world. I bought a complicated American plug to UK plug to Scandinavian plug adaptor thingy for my laptop. The man in the electrical shop was very nice and understood perfectly what I required, even if I didn't. You were right not to dare to say hello, we are notoriously unfriendly. The Drammen crowd was absolutely brilliant.

So you're unfriendly huh? Didn't seem so, hehe. Glad you enjoyed the crowd. Rumour says that you lived on the First Hotel Ambassadeur...Next time stay at Rica Park... It's way better. Hope to meet you in Dublin, perhaps I'll run in to you again.

Denis Desmond wants everybody to go to the Friday show so that the publicity can then say "more dates added by overwhelming public demand". It's just showbiz, sorry. They didn't warn me. I just shared my diary. It's a bit like that bit in our show when Shane says "This is the last number. Unless you give us an Encore."

So it is possible, that, if the public demand is not that overwhelming the other shows on saturday and sunday are cancelled ?

Promoters rarely miscalculate to that extent.
