Booked my hotels this morning, but for some reason the site I use to book my train tickets won't sell me any until 12 weeks before I travel, so I will have to wait. I tried a few other sites aswell, but nobody seems to be doing them yet.

Maddening, isn't it? Perhaps The Trainline has less faith in the British railway network than even we have. Bear in mind too that discount tickets don't always kick in right away, so it's usually better to wait until about 8 weeks in advance anyway.

Dublin and Belfast not on sale yet. Different promotors from UK dates i think. (yeah i know Belfast is part of the UK).

anyone got an idea of when the Belfast tickets are going on sale and a rough guide of the price ??

McCann-Desmond (MCD.ie) who promote our shows on the island of Ireland typically put them on sale a week or two after the UK shows, though I've never been quite sure why this is.

Thanks for that, Philip. I ended up booking train tickets quite late last year and found that.

While we're on the subject, another thing I usually find about booking seats online is they don't usually show a seating chart. When we went to London in June, our outward reservations gave us the most rubbish seats ever, in between two windows with only a wall to look at! Needless to say we ended up moving.

I'd like nothing more than to see The Pogues perform in Dublin, etc., and a friend in Ireland told me I can fly return from Canada, for as little as $300 all-in (approximately what it costs, return, to drive 1-4 ppl from home to Boston to see the Pogues), but the best I've found so far is at least $1200-$1500 or more, all in.

In any event, I guess it'll take a little more planning and saving if I'm going to make it for winter 2010, won't make it this year.

Might as well save enough to make the trip otherwise worthwhile, regardless of seeing the Pogues.

It won't effect attendance! If i were from the area and wanted to see The Pogues i'd hardly say to myself

"Mmmmm, Pogues, Tuesday........ Mmmmmmmmm..... Na, I'll sit in and watch Corrie."

Perhaps you could watch Corrie and Sky Plus the gig and go to it on saturday.

Cop On and get yourself and your mates out that night.

By the way, i'll probably end up driving up from Tipperary and staying over and drive home next morning. See you for a pint.

Tuesday me arse :x

Great to hear about these gigs. Even better to see that they're not playing that shed of an RDS again this year. Will there be much standing room in the olympia does anyone know?
I love it when a plan comes together.
