I am so looking forward to the encore being done with all the band participating in proper Rufus burlesque style...

People are always complainin' we don't do new old songs. Wait till they hear our version of Rufus' dad's "Rufus Is A Tit Man".

I would love to see the band come and play in Canada...say in Toronto. Any chance of that? Lots of Pogues fans here!

Any chance that a few Portland tickets will be available at the door? I've been trying to find a single ticket on Craigslist, but the best "deal" I've been able to find is $100 per ticket. I realize that face value was over $50, but I just can't justify (or afford) the $100. If anyone has a spare they're willing to sell at face value, let me know. I've been a fan for almost 25 years...since first hearing Rum Sodomy & the Lash back in 1985!

Toronto? That's north of America, right? Isn't it cold up there?

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I believe there are tickets still available for the Seattle show if you can get up there from Portland.

Of the few things I remember from my first Pogues show in LA over 20 years ago, was Waltzing Matilda being performed and finished in about 3 minutes. I think I yelled "slow down" , to no avail.

Less than two weeks to go until another Pogues funfest, my sixth in LA in the last few years. :D

Alas, there's at least one very sad twenty year old in Seattle
Maybe you should come back in late June?

I'd say the Warfield. I've been to a couple of shows at the Regency Ballroom and the acoustics have always been terrible, overly bassy and echoey. The Warfield's a bit larger but sounds a lot better.

I would agree with hulka about the acoustics of the Regency and also point out that the opening bands at the Warfield are far superior. No offense to Mr. Shiflett, former lead guitarist for Foo Fighters, but Devotchka are stunning live and Zander Schloss has an unmatched pedigree (Circle Jerks, Pray for Rain, Sweet & Low Orchestra w/a certain Mr. Fearnley, myriad Joe Strummer projects, and of course, who could forget his performance as Karl the Hot Dog Boy in Straight To Hell?). Might we be treated to a rendition of "Karl's Disco Weiner Deiner Haven?" One can only pray...

My guess is no. The tune has always had a Pavlovian effect on the Pogues which rarely ends well for Zander.

Going to the Club Nokia show with me and my little brothers next week. It's about an 8 hour drive for them, but hey, they're in high school, so they can go right to hell with their little complaints like "oh my God, 9 hours drive time?".

Never been to the Club Nokia, so we'll see how that goes. Fingers crossed that security won't be too overzealous.
