They're not playing in Cardiff, sorry to disappoint.

philipchevron wrote:It is indeed our intention to do some UK & Ireland shows this year, between December 11 and December 21. These will be in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Dublin and, for the first time in many years, Nottingham. There will be no shows in Cardiff or Newcastle this time (too bloody cold).

i know finances come into tour arranging etc ,but we down here in the south west are starved of decents bands who do uk tours ,yes we have a few good gigs and venues but just lately all the decent bands seem to avoid this area.
remember the days when the pogues played bristol a few times and cornwall at least once, happy days.
i also appreciate people have to travel a lot further than i do ,just seems a waste of our venues down here.

We have no complaints about ticket sales in Newcastle or Cardiff. In addition, we did a great show in Cardiff last year, it was a blast working with Cerys Matthews and Newcastle has always been a personal highlight for me, a great city combining the traditional with the modern.
But we always try to cover as much of the country as we can on each tour, within the parameters of how much work we're prepared to do and our agents and promoters put tours together on this basis and with the dates available to them. Simon Moran pointed out that we had not yet played in the East Midlands on these reunion tours.
In theory, we could play a different town every night for a year, but it would not take a great deal of that to remind ourselves why we stopped in the first place.
