For reasons I haven't researched Firefox hates that your content is embedded in a frame element and ends up presenting me with a blank page. If others are also seeing a blank page then you can access the new site directly at:

http://pogueslive.great-site.net/

Thanks for preserving the info Lade!

Safari has the same issue. But thanks for the alternative link, DzM.

And great work, Lade, it's really good to have the info out there again.

And I'd forgotten about the drinking dry of the Guinness at Brixton in 2013... :)

Great work guys, always loved PoguesLive and good to see it back. One thing that always puzzled me though was why the following gig was only ever listed under videos? The fact that it exists as video automatically means it's available as audio as well, and as the last gig of the post-Shane line-up I think it's a pretty important one. I'd suggest it should be added to the new site, but that's just my humble opinion, you guys have done a great job with it.

Interesting point. I guess it means nobody had made & circulated an audio version, either from a direct audio feed or a rip from the video.

Of note, Spider is also not at this show, Daryl handled most of the vocals. What's interesting is it's not a bad gig. Like, if I'd never seen The Pogues and saw that I would think they were pretty good.

Also, this wasn't the *final* show, as the new site mentions of you scroll to the bottom of 1995:

The Pogues final gig was in front of 300 fans at The Dome (the venue on the first floor of The Boston Arms public house), Tufnell Park, London on 28-Jul-96.

Yes, true enough - I should have said final gig that was recorded (as far as I know). I've only seen DOT on YouTube which I agree sounds pretty good.

We have only listed recordings that are confirmed to exist.
Montreux 1996 has not been circulated among fans so therefore it's not on the website.
If anyone can PM me with a proof that it exists we will list it.

Well at least this song exists https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imlNmpw355w - can't speak for the rest of it. But Low D seems to have heard it, doesn't that prove it exists?!

I do have a DVD video of it which i received in a trade years ago (possibly from the admin of pogueslive.com who was a member here as 'bigron'? I could be wrong about either or both of those things). It's a recording of a proper broadcast (on Swiss TV? Internal Montreaux thing? I dunno). It's been discussed here on the site as well:

I'd be amazed if the Pogues played a gig in October 1997, or at least one with any sort of recognisable line-up. Can anybody confirm it?

Ciderman, in one of your other posts you imply there is both audio and video of the last(?) London gig from July 96 (the one at The Dome) - is that right?

I find both of the below dates at http://p.bruhat.free.fr/pogues/pog-live.html suspect:

OCT 17TH 1997 : STOCKHOLM, GINO, SWEDEN
SEP 27TH 2000 : SITTARD, CAFE DE BUREN, NL

I'd hazard an opinion that if they're not mentioned in Carole Clerk's book they're not legit, just typos etc. One can't believe everything one reads on the internet.

I spent years keeping an eye open for Willie P. Bennett's original 1969 7" of "White Lines" which was mentioned consistently many places before I finally sussed that the Wikipedia was wrong and the many consistent sources on the internet, and in various media's obits after Willie died, had all just copied the fake news from the Wiki page (and I later confirmed by emailing his first producer, and friend) (and then I changed the damn wiki page!)

Ciderman, it's in the "Last Gig With Shane" thread a couple below this one. Reading it again I actually think you were referring to the Clapham Grand 94 gig, but I misinterpreted it as being about the Dome 96.

Shane MacGowan joined the band for one last song and as he left the stage is reputed to have shouted "Goodbye forever, thank Christ for that!”" https://web.archive.org/web/20131206104 ... 992-96.htm

I've just watched the DVD and listened to the CD bootleg. I'd say he says "Goodnight, thanks for that" Just at the end of Rainy Night in Soho.

Goodnight & Thank You gets said when he leaves the stage after the final song which was Streams of Whiskey

What Ciderman refers to is the 1994 The Grand, Clapham recording.
