That’s from the Live at the Town & Country video. So... The Town & Country?

I don't know where it was filmed, and i don't know anyone who does. So I can't dispute your answer.

Here's my version of the Town & Country 88

Thanks for you reply but where did you get your info from mate?

It's also been suggested it was the Barrowlands as there's a guy who thinks he's in the footage?

Well if there’s a guy that says it’s totally different than the box claims - that’s good enough for me. Seems legit.

I honestly have no idea where it was filmed. Over dubbing live releases is common. I’m positive live video is also a mashup of multiple performances over several nights (“Stop Making Sense”, the movie, is a mashup of two evenings). Barring a member of the crew or the band to give some insight the best we have is the box and whatever info might be in the credits at the end.

The front of the cardboard in my hands says “Town & Country.” I have no need to dig further.

The single was released on February 22 but I don´t know if the video was out at the same time. Can´t be from Town & Country if that is the case. But Spider, James and Daryl are wearing the same clothes in the video as they did in the backstage scenes from Completely Pogued.

It´s not from the same night as the St Patrick´s video but they did 5 or 6 shows that week so I think it´s from T&C.

I'm not saying your wrong but what cover did you get your info from?

I have everything the Pogues have ever done, but I can't see any info on where it was recorded on any of the covers or discs I have :?:

It was first released in 1991 on Poguesvision but that has no details where it was recorded either.

Does anyone have any info they can provide to prove where it was filmed?

I get Mats point with his youtube clip that he provided, so maybe it is the T & C club. Who knows??

100% filmed during the March '88 week in the Town & Country. The 'real' crowd scenes are shots not included in the 'Live at the T&C video'. The band shots were from other nights not used on the Live At T&C video. The whole stage set-up and backdrop is the same as T&C video. As Mats says, some of the band are wearing same clothes. Maybe those shots weren't used because Shane turned up in a different shirt and continuity was a problem.

The 'fake' crowd dancing scenes were people brought in to be filmed jumping around (that could have been anywhere at anytime). Those shots always seemed so cringy (and similar to the dancing in the Streams of Whiskey video.

I'd say this video was cobbled together to bulk up the Poguevision release in '91.

I would agree with you mate

But I'm still wondering what cover DzM can see this info on?

You’re reading too much into what I wrote.

The clip looks to me like it’s from “Live at the Town & Country”. The cover of “Live at the Town & Country” says “Town & Country.” Therefore I guess the footage is from the Town & Country, but I fully admit it may be cobbled together from other shows.

This is based on nothing more than my entirely half-assed view of the video and less than half-assed memory of the Town & Country vhs. It seems reasonable to me, but I’ve certainly been wrong before. Take it or leave it.

Wow. That's amazing. You're right, that's Midtown. How the hell you worked that out it beyond me. That original clip is way too muddy to make it out without that pointer.

Steve Earle appears backstage ,before and after the show, but which one? Mr.Earle was on a plane heading for home on St.Paddy's Day.I have a BBC Radio One In Concert tape, from later that year, ,when he says' the last time i played here ,it was almost St Patrick's Day'.......i'm amazed he remembered that,Steve Earle was on another planet on and around that time......
