No. There are are no more plans for the rest of 2011.

Will Shane be a part of upcoming shows?

Yes. All shows since 2001 have included the most well known lineup of The Pogues: Shane, Spider, Jem, Andrew, Philip (or James Walbourne substituting for Philip due to health reasons), Terry, Darryl and James. There are no announced plans for this to change, and no reason to suspect it will.

What is the song that The Pogues come out to?

The Clash recording of "Straight To Hell" (from their Combat Rock album) has been used at the beginning of each show since Christmas Reunion 2004.
It was suggested by Shane. Those with long memories will recall that the song was a highlight of The Pogues shows during Joe Strummer's tenure as lead singer.

Can you send me a bootleg of a particular show?

This site does not condone (or condemn) the trading of bootleg materials. It also does not make them available. There is a forum where users can discuss what bootlegs exist, their relative quality, the ethics involved in bootleg trading, etc. The forum may not be used to facilitate the trade of bootlegs.

Are CDs or DVDs of live shows going to be made available?

A live CD, The Ultimate Collection, was released in March, 2005 that was recorded during the December, 2001 reunion. There are currently no announced plans to make other live CDs or DVDs available. The Streams of Whiskey live CD/DVD-Audio widely available is an unauthorized recording produced and distributed against the band's wishes.

Who did/is going to duet with Shane on Fairytale Of New York at the recent/upcoming shows?

Ella Finer, daughter of Jem Finer of The Pogues. As Philip Chevron put it: "Ella Finer, she we have known since she was an egg, remains our first choice as long as she is willing to take the job."

Sorry if I can't find it, but is there any page here where I can see all more or less confirmed gigs of the pogues at once whether its Tokyo or Denmark and whether its confirmed or not (yet)? I want to kick my ass for finding out that they played the day before yesterday not 300 km away from me...

Sorry, I'm sure this is a FAQ: but last night (the first Pogues gig I have seen since the early 90s) Jem played mandolin and Terry played banjo.
This used to be the other way around.
Did/do they just get bored and swop around for a laugh or is there something afoot?

Sorry to bring this up in the FAQ but this seems to be the right place for it.

How does one go about booking The Pogues? I'd love to try and get them in my town and am willing to take this up with promoters and venues. I just don't know where to start. Thanks!!

i understand this question may have been raised at some point previously but could someone, maybe my good man Phillip, answer me this : Glasgow... For as long as i (and my older brother) who regailed me of the halcyon days of the BARROWLAND where the atmosphere was undoubtedly THE greatest in the world does not feature on the touring scedule any more.?.?. I understand that there may be loyalties to the Academies of the U.K. , again i appreciate that, but i for one, was too young to attend such shows being an over 18s venue due to liscencing laws. i have served my Pogues apprenticeship listening to bootlegs (first time i saw you guys was when you played the SECC aged 11) from such Barrowland shows and the Academy does NOT compare to the downright sweatiness and singalong factor of THE BARRAS. I understand that there is seating for the dozen folk who wish to remain on their bums durin 'If IShould Fall' but surely ONE night at the Barras (which would sell out immediately) could be offset by another at the Academy...Where i hasten to add NO-ONE wants a ticket for the balcony, you can't give them away. The Barras also has an adequate facility for disabled people. Please make a lifelong Pogues fan dream happen. PLAY THE BARROWLAND!!!! If only a one off, not just for me but i speak for many,many die-hards. Thank you for reading this, Kennyboy77

Kenny, I think the Pogues themselves still share your fondness for the Barras. It was the first truly mad Pogues venue, where the gigs were more of an event than a concert. The reason we've not been back is because we are indeed tied into an agreement with the Academy people which prohibits us from playing elsewhere in Glasgow for the moment. Also, I suppose there's an anxiety that lightning might not strike twice all these years later, and we don't want to disturb the fond recall we (and our audience) have. These days, the Barras more properly belongs to Christy Moore and a few others.

All that being said, if we can ever find a way around the Academy issue, I'm sure we'd be prepared to risk it at some point in the future.

thanks Phillip for your swift reply it's most appreciated. i fully understand your reasons...i really just am thankful to be able to see you guys in the flesh annually now. loved the nottingham show, if a tad short. And as i said in aprevious PM great to see you back and healthy. can't wait for December!

Barras is brilliant but probably not for a Pogues gig nowadays, there'd probably be loads of trouble due to it being surrounded by the roughest pubs and characters in glasgow. Plus, the only disabled facility is a raised platform at the very back of the venue, that is, if someone in a wheelchair managed to make it up the four or five flights of stairs to get to there.
