Unfortunately, because of a disagreement between the director and the producer, the "business model" of the proposed film changed and this led, in turn, to a blip in financing from which the movie never recovered. In the meantime, I think the band and our managers just lost confidence in the project. It's a shame really, because I think it would have been a good film. I don't think there is much prospect of resurrecting the project at this point, though all the film still exists.

The Nokia cameras, by the way, were for a separate no nonsense "in concert" DVD which, I am led to believe, will be released sometime this year.

Hi Philup,

Thanks for your speedy reply , As i have previously said I only be on time to time . I appricate you letting me know as im always wondering what the exact story was with the documentary . In reply I would say that there would be a massive market for it , As over the last few years i've noticed a whole new fan base at the gigs like a real mixed audiance both young, old, punks, bogmen, and different nationailtys so i think it would have wide appeal. But look ,you never know stranger things have happened The Dubliners resurected a documentary that was filmed i think over 25yrs? ago this year and was showed at a film festival .
But im really lookin forward to the " No noncense in concert" and cant wait for it to be released , what really sticks out in mind is on the Sunday night was Shane doing this wee dance around the stage that I havn't seen before? And also the whole band really enjoying themself's . Them gigs were Magic.

Chat soon

Would that be his "White City" dance? I love that one as well.

Is there a way to put material out that is somewhat less than par for the band, but well within standard for die hard fans? Surely, people understand the difference 20 years makes...and besides, if you show some footage of th crowd, people will get it.

But its well understood that if you didn't get good audio, Philip, y'all aren't going to want it out there as an example of the current standard.
