Philip,

It was really moving to see you back on Sunday evening. Thousands brought a lump to my throat.... and your dedication to the QMC and City staff was also very moving. What a brilliant moment. I heard you live in Nottingham now, why is that? did the mighty Notts County tempt you to reside full time...

Not this time, alas. I think we're trying Sheffield this time.

How's Philip doing?

Mods, if there is a thread and my compromised literacy skills have prevented me from seeing it, I apologise. But how's Philip's health? Hope he's doing well.

Nope. Still just this thread, which has served well through the ups and downs. Thank you for asking, I am feeling fit and well and am probably healthier than I was just before I got the cancer. It was a narrow escape and I won't easily forget that.

I found that the regime I followed when I was recovering from the chemo and managing about 50% of the gigs (to wit, arrive in the root city a day early at the start of a tour and do a fast exit "Elvis has left the building" each night after the show) suited me so well that I intend to stick to it for the future.

Good to hear this Phil. It was certainly nice to see you perform in Liverpool, even though I was not where I wanted to be.

It's a shame though that you'll be leaving the shows at the end and won't be going to any aftershows, because I know that a few of my friends who come on here would really like to meet you. and I consider myself really lucky to have met you when I did, although at the time I was unaware that you were ill.

Hope that you remain in good health for many, many years to come.

Thanks. I'm sure I will still make the occasional aftershow but in principle, it suits me better to just go home! 8)
