Hi Philip,
I realize there should have been a big announcement if it's the case, but I suppose I wanted to hear it from you...will you be meeting up with the boys on the east coast in a couple weeks? I just haven't been checking the forum lately.
Hope all is well.

I think we're past the big announcement phase, but I do feel well enough to join this tour and am looking forward to it, thanks.

I can remember seeing The Alarm at Manchester when singer Mike Peters had just got the all clear news and that nights gig was one of the best Alarm gigs I had see in years .They seemed to been a really postive felling that night and Mike just seemed to be loving ever second of it. I hope the same thing happens with The Pogues US dates and for Phillip Chevron.

So glad you're well enough to make it again this year, Mr. C. I hope the short tour won't be too hard on you. I managed to get backstage last year in DC and chatted with Shane, Spider and James. I was looking for you, but was sad to find out you had to get back to the hotel to rest (I completely understand why). Good luck - see you in NYC on the 13th!

Staying well remains a full-time job and, almost two years on, still demands enormous amounts of rest, but I've become quite adept at that now. It was a delight to feel so able again on stage in Miami on Saturday.

Excellent news. While a few cousins and myself will be at both Boston shows, a tight-knit boatload from the Mannix/O'Brien/Gavin/Bell clan are eagerly anticipating the beauty of 1,000's on Saturday!!! We shout, scream, pout and piss in each others pints all of the time. Yet, this song stirs us beyond the bullshit to focus on the bond created by the journeys our humble parents and grandparents endured to improve our lives.

Great to see you looking great at the last show in Boston. Hope you're still feeling well, though that tour must've been, as we often say in New England, brutal. Best to you.

Actually, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a tour more, except possibly December 2001. It was well-routed, well-paced and left me plenty of time to get adequate rest. Even in the good old bad old days, I routinely collapsed in a heap by tour's end, something that is now neither necessary or desirable.

I remember a couple of the past few years you had a bad cold. I guess its bad timing for that sort of thing. Spring's curse. And flu season.
