Sorry to hear that pal, keep well.

Philip,
I wish you well from my little corner of the world!

Good luck Phil!
From experience, the 'baggage sentiment' is certainly one that the sufferer doesn't need to worry about when they need to stay focussed on surviving each day, either having treatment or trying to recover from the treatment. The folks I've known have come across as being flippant when they've made their announcements although that's not the intention I'm sure, but it certainly takes you back when you hear it.

Good luck to anyone who's heard or made similar announcements.

It's just after midnight here in America, and I'm a little drunk and a little weepy after listening to the Pogues for a few hours and especially "Thousands Are Sailing" before going to bed now. I hate this day because my wife went and got her MRI today and I'm praying to God her breast cancer has not come back, and that you, Philip, are alright as well. We are going to miss you so much when we come over for the show in Belfast. Here's hoping you're better and that we see you in Chicago in March. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my wife and the Pogues.

I so hope your wife's MRI came back okay, Mcguck, and yes, don't the Pogues occupy a good place in our lives and help us through the rough times. I wish you and your family the very best.

Thanks so very much for your kind words, Aine. Unfortunately they did find something and have scheduled a biopsy for Sept 26. Any and all prayers would be welcome that it comes up benign.

I'm happy to report the mass they found on my wife's MRI turned out to benign! I can't thank you all enough for your kind thoughts and words. Carol was very touched by your concern. Now let's keep thinking positive thoughts about Mr. C! Barring any unforeseen developments we'll be crossing the pond in December to join you all in Belfast! Take care and thanks again for your good wishes.

By far the best news I have heard all day. Now we can all direct a little more positive energy toward Mr. C indeed.
