How're philip?

Post Tue Aug 21, 2007 9:20 pm

I'm reluctant to pry too much, but we're all wondering how your treatment is going Philip, and how you're doing...hopefully not too much nausea, etc. like my wife had. How are you spending your days and how are you feeling? Know that all of us wish you the best, and can't wait to see you swirling about the stage as usual in the future!

Mr.C-Just heard about your situation this afternoon. I have been away from the boards from quite some time, and had no idea. Wanted you to know that you have been heavy on my heart tonight. May you know peace, comfort and healing.
Here is your beverage...five cents a cup of ice!!!

Thanks folks. I don't like to update too frequently, as I am aware it can sometimes be distressing for people. Right now I'm one day off the completion of the actual treatment, the Chemo and Radiotherapy sessions, so huray for THAT much at least! I accepted a few weeks ago that this IS what I do with my days. I'm moving over to Ireland late next week for recuperation and I am hoping that most of the discomfort from the treatment will have passed soon after that. Frankly, after that, nothing much happens except I check in once a month for 3 months with my oncologists. Somewhere around then I have more complicated scans to see whether they killed the bastard or not.

Good news, Mr C! That's a great step to get past. Thanks for the update. Keep strong. We're all thinking of you.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Enjoy the Ireland trip, Philip, and all appendages crossed that the treatment has done the trick.

Personally I find it a little relieving to read your updates as not knowing anything is more distressing. It is especially nice to know that you have made it through the treatment and can now concentrate on rest and recuperation.

I agree with Clash Cadillac here, it's actually more painful not to know.

Anyway I'm glad the treatment is almost over, I feel relieved about that.

Hope you feel better soon.

There are two women who are very close to my wife, and by extension me, who have been diagnosed within the last month with lung cancer and have started treatment. We talked the other day about how we were entering into that stage in life where this kind of thing will be happening more often now, and possibly to us. Just thought I'd share that... not looking for any "sorry to hear that" kinda thing, just sharin'.

A friend recently observed that our social group is reaching the age where announcements of weddings and births are falling off and announcements of disease and death are increasing.

Yay, passage of time.
