we're all thinking of you Mr. C. Get well soon.
Last night as I slept I dreamt I met with Behan, I shook him by the hand as we passed the time of day.

Philip get well soon. Your music has kept a lot of people strong when they needed it. And hopefully these thoughts and wishes will help keep you strong as you battle this one out! Take care. Ger

I am a long time lurker on this site. I was stunned by the recent news so had to register to offer my good wishes. Think positive, you will beat this disease. I look forward to seeing you down under soon. I really appreciate your participation and comments on this site.

Philip,

Sorry, I know this is my third post on this thread, but I still feel really upset about this and I'm sure many other people here do too.

Please keep us posted on how your treatment is going and if you ever need someone to different to talk to other than your regular friends you know where I am.

Thank you Heather. Please know that all expressions of support and care are received by me with exactly the same sincerity of feeling with which they were sent, and they continue to lift me.

I did consider keeping some sort of blog or diary of my treatment but I worried, correctly, as it turns out, that my moods would be too changeable to commit anything reliable or unalarming to print. There are days when it all seems improbable or even impossible. There are days when the treatment is too unbearable to face. And then there are days when I more or less take it in my stride. Worst are the days when I know I'm putting myself through all this without any guarantees at the other end.

In the end, I have realised that, tiredness allowing, carrying on as normally as possible is the best defence I have. That and the knowledge that people care very much.

Keep stong Mr Chevron, we all do care. It is a sensative and difficult subject, we know. But the update is much appreciated, thanks

I've lurked on this board for a long time but never posted anything until today. I just want to extend my best wishes to Mr. Chevron and wish him a speedy recovery.

The Pogues' music has been something of an internal soundtrack to my life for years, and I hope to see a healthy Phillip back up onstage with the rest of the boys soon. All the best!

Philip -

My father came through head and neck cancer that had spread locally that I suspect is similar to yours. Here is an encouraging word - he is now 3 years "clean" after chemo and radiation. (He also happens to have turned me onto the Pogues back in the Hells Ditch days - thanks dad)

Wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you back on stage.

Good to know you're holding up ok. We all appreciate being kept updated, but I understand you may not feel like talking about it.

Philip

I send you my warmest wishes in your fight, I appreciate what you did for my Dad when he was suffering too, the autographed picture you organised for him cheered him up a treat. Let me warmly shake your cyber hand and wish you the very best of luck.
