One of my stocking fillers was the book U2 on U2 which contains this interesting little passage from Sir Bono: "I was genuinely looking for something different, I think a lot of people were. And then I remember hearing The Radiators from Space. They were Ireland's first punk band. They had a single that went 'I'm gonna put my telecaster throught the television screen because I don't like what's going on' When I heard it my ears pricked up....this is the kind of shit I like.' So we were off then.

hmmmm....

As Julius Caesar almost said in the midst of his assassination by a hundred cuts "Death? It would have happened anyway, dear boy."

So if Philip was never born, Bono wouldn't be our world's hero? No friendly advise to Tony Blair and George W. Bush? No soapbox? Bono would still be pumping petro in Dublin - "Would you like me to check your oil sir?"
