And each mistake was so noteworthy that even after 30 years you still recall Mr. Bowie's mistake, and the others, as if they were yesterday. I guess that runs counter to the idea that 'nobody will notice'. In fact, people will notice and will be haunted by it for decades.

Well yes, that;s why Pogues fans dig it when something like The Irish Rover falls to bits and we have to start it over. Anyone can hear the Irish Rover played well - it takes loyalty and perseverance to catch the bad versions.

By the way, I adore cheetahs. Any that survive to adulthood are, almost by definition, exceptional.

Well I'm glad to hear that. Had no idea. I have one cheetah tattooed to my leg, and am planning to have one tattood to the other. One running - one sitting. I have always identified with them. Cheetahs are one of the few animals that people are very familiar with, that might possibly disappear in the next century. Genetic problems as well as environmental limitations. But advantageous or not, my totem.
