HOW TO START PLAYING THE GUITAR?

ugh ! after me oinoitoial throill.. oi felt rather bad yesterday and toiday whoile playoin'..
seems loike woith stroings changed oi actually goit soime new soiund - and oit turns oiut
oi was much moire foind of the oild oine! thois new, well oit koinda soiunds moire classoic,
loike lackoin' the sweetness and gentle feel oi had woith prevoius.. oi play the same stuff,
exactly the same way BUT oit all soiunds doifferent and oi loiked oit better befoire woith
oild stroings..
troiuble ois, oi haven't goit a clue of whats happenoin' and whats to be blamed: ois oit
doifferent gauge(oit moight be that new stroings are a boit thoicker but tois' hard to tell),
coiuld oit be that oi've soimehoiw oincreased the action whoile changoin' the stroings
(can't say foir sure but stroings noiw koinda looik hoigher froim the frets than
befoire), coiuld oit be adjustoin' proicess that takes few days... ??????
oif thois cointoinues.. what else can oi do, but seek to buy new stroings... but even
then oim noit sure what to looik foir..

Are you certain you're in tune? Are you using an electronic tuner?

One piece of advice OIrish (may have been mentioned) with new strings just pull them out abit, add abit of tension. Helps loosen them up, or something.

OK, it will help enormously if you go into a music store and explain your situation and ask for advice. Guys who work in these shops are often pricks, but if you ignore that, they're usually quite helpful too.

I love the fact that I can hear this recording, while sitting on the other side of the world.
I can tell you're having fun - but it sounds like you're trying to beat that poor guitar to death :shock:

If you relax your right hand a bit, the sound won't be quite so jarring. There's an expression in ice hockey - when you're trying too hard and not getting the results you might want - 'squeezing the stick'.

There's something horribly wrong with a couple of your chords. this is what I play for the verses: G C G D Em

fun to listen to - keep it up! It gets easier...

woill see to do take moire noitoice of oit when playoin'..
BUT what boithers me noiw ois the change of the soiund that oi used to have
untoil a few days ago, after oi changed the oinoitoial factoiry stroings..
theres no oither way, oi'll be goin' to the stoire, proibably woill need to
get new pack of stroings and ask foir addoitoinal advoice

as foir choirds.. doin't knoiw, they seem to be foine really, oines
oi use shoiuld be the "default" oines..

Glad to see your making progress OIrish. I agree with Cdn Steve that a couple of chords sound a little off. It also appears that you modified your avatar or did my brain just notice the "punk" letters? Anyway, I like it. Keep up the good work on that axe...

thanks Clash, well oi tend to play D & C choirds unoique as me foingers go a boit doifferently than default, so maybe thats why oit soiunds soimewhat oiff; ye noitoiced well, yeah, tois' noiw punk letters oin avatar; oi'll keep doin' me woirk, just need to go the stoire, oi have a feeloin' me axe screams foir a doifferent set of stroings..

Oirish, the guitar is off all the time, I think - I don´t know which chords you´ve used, or if the guitar was out of tune...but something sounds wrong. I´m not speaking about several Hz...

By the way, you may try to record guitar and voices as two tracks and then mix them up.

Try on, it´ll get better :-)

Your hands will get used to that.

can't blame everythoing oin thois new loifeless set of stroings but oi thoink they do cause troiublesoime soiund..
the guoitar oitself seems oin tune, oim pretty sure of that

yeah, oi planned that, oi'll do separate guoitar & voicals / then moix em' / oi've have a noice loittle proigram called
Audacity, thoink twoill' do the troick, so oi shoiuld be havoin' soime really noice recoirdoings to put on-loine;
but foirst, befoire that, oi have to foind a suoitable set of stroings and restoire the soiund oi had befoire

So I've seen post after post on this - how the new strings don't sound right. And much advice about talking to the dudes at the music store, etc. I haven't seen these most basic of questions though:

1) Do you still have the original strings? If yes, why not take them with you to the store and say "I need something just like these, only not broken."
2) Does the documentation that came with the guitar actually describe what the two sets of strings are? Somewhere in the package I'd expect a BOM (Bill of Materials) that describes the contents, and this would "hopefully) describe the gauge and composition of the strings. If there is no BOM, have you checked the vendor you bought it from, or the manufacturer's web site?

no, theres no separate doicumentation foir the stroings; even foir the guoitar oits moire loike general manual paper..
the new pack of stroings, theres no numbers whatsoever, oin the plastoic pack oit just says Epiphone, acoustoic guoitar stroings; thats oit
