its more fun trying to play a song you like. you can get the chords from a guitar tab website for most popular songs. first chords i learnt were for wonderwall by oasis.

Oim pretty sure its not an easy task and as everything good in loife it takes lots of efforts and practise to make it good.

Well, oddly enough i started playing electric guitar in the style of iron maiden rhythm guitar and whenever i met a guitarist id get them to teach me something so when i got into the pogues heavy metal style and all the different peoples little snippets came together. anyway, oim gonna invest some efforts to foinally start learning some guitar stuff, oi'll probably get some material first - learn the basic stuff there is to know... and choosing the roight instrument as well;
in the longer terms oi would loike to play banjo - guitar should be the first step towards it and its very noice cause it will help me with wroiting songs oi think.

I hate to resurrect a three month old thread, but I was reading through and wanted to see how things have turned out for you. I play guitar, myself, and have for about a seven or eight years now. I've given lessons for a while and if you ever have questions or anything, I'm on AIM frequently.

well, the plan was to start already but due to bad situation and another breaking point within' band.. plus me bad toime management, oim still at the beginning...
in the meantoime oi bought a book to read about learning guitar for beginners(serbian edition unfortunately)

oim planning to get meself one of acoustic, preferably acoustic electric guitar.. that seems better option than goin' electric at the very beginning..
the problem is oi haven't got a clue what to get as foirst guitar..
oi ain't buyin' anything too expensoive, but oid loike to have guitar that won't completely fail for me initial practoise...

In Belgrade choice of guitars is far from on-loine choice..
there are some noice Aria guitars but oi've heard many stories of them beeing a complete failure to work out good. Hm.. oi'll think what to do.

Anyway, oi have thoughts of getting sth on-loine, heres few interesting models oi've found on the web.

I bought this Washburn that has lasted me a good three years running now. It was 99 dollars and has been nothing but reliable.

In the guitars pictured, I own the dark mahogany one in the back. It's actually a reasonably attractive guitar for a cheapy, too. Gold hardware and all that business. This would be my recommendation over anything else simply because it's been a reliable bang-around guitar for years.

comparing to Dean it doesn't have electric option and cutaway, but tis' probably more reliable in terms of quality?

That's just my own thing. I've never found a use for a cutaway and never found a use for the amplified options on straight up acoustics. For 99 bucks though, you're pretty much free to do whatever you as far as features.
