what a kind, sweet, humble talented man. I am so grateful he kept us appraised of everything Pogues related when he didn't have to.

My condolences to Phil's friends, family, bands and fans. Im thankful for his life and that we as fans were treated to his talents. Phil has defeated cancer and I will say a prayer and raise a pint tonight in gratitude and rememberance.

So, so sorry to hear this. Friends and family of Philip, my prayers are with you. I never met him in person but from reading these forums I could tell he was an amazing person.

I knew him through his music. His guitar playing was unheard of and I could connect to his lyrics. Watching him play rhythm guitar inspired me to play.

I remember first hearing about him and seeing him in his interviews on "The Shane MacGowan Story". I could tell he was nothing but a honest person with a big heart.
