I'm a younger fan and I discovered them late, but this music has been the soundtrack of the past couple of years for me. Especially Thousands. I'm delighted to now discover more of Mister Chevron's music through Radiators. They all make me wish I'd been born ten years earlier.
I look at Pogues videos, especially of years past, and the thing that makes me smile the most is Philip's physical joy in the music as he plays, it's jubilant and very pure. I imagine this is very much who he was.
So I am sad I will not see you again on stage Mister Chevron, or ever meet you to thank you to your face, and I'm sad because you were in pain and left your loved ones early.
I'm glad you gave us your music - thanks from the heart.
And the song went on
Though the lights were gone

Beautifully put Ladyludd. You may be "a younger Pogues fan" but your words display a great deal of wisdom - just the sort of sentiments Philip would have expressed for others who have left us too early, in fact.
