Profoundly sad news, even though we knew it was coming - it was still a shock. The world is a little darker and the raft a little lighter. Goodbye, Mr. C...thank you for everything...it's quite a legacy you leave behind.

My thoughts are with your family, friends, bandmates, fans, fellow Medusans...

Fare you well, fare you well, we love you more than words can tell.

x

Such a quiet world now for those whose ears are trained toward the voice of reason and there is none. We will have to pick up where you left off. Help us find that thread.

I hope you find all those you've loved who've gone ahead of you.

Thank you for being part of our lives.

This is how I feel exactly. I can't really fathom how this place is still operating without him, his was such a looming presence in just the few months that I've been here.

And hopefully he'll get to be reunited with the man he's mentioned was the love of his life who died in 1992. I hope that's how it works.

Here's the 2-part Irish Daily Mail interview with him from June for anyone who missed it and wants to feel extra sad:

Absolutely great to hear Cait go from near tears to laughter during the interview.

Read the bad and horrible news on the internet by chance just a few minutes ago. It´s so very sad. I can´t believe it.
Thousands were sailing and I hope now you are sailing to a better land and world, Phil. All my best wishes and thoughts are with you. We all will miss you.

Been meaning to post into this section for a day or 2.

RIP Philip, thanks for everything you did for me, both knowingly and not, especially for lending your voice and guitar playing to my song below.

Fellow fans & friends, please feel free to download the track for free or just listen through til the chorus when Phil's voice comes in. I think it's really moving.
