Deborah wrote:My beloved brother Philip would have been truly humbled by the outpouring of love and support from all his wonderful fans today. He was a very special and talented man who dedicated his life to music and theatre. His death is not only a loss for our family, but clearly there is a wide circle of friends and fans who also mourn his passing. This is a comfort to us at such a sad time. His life was lived doing what he loved best. That this brought joy and entertainment to others is a wonderful legacy. Sleep peacefully now Phil. X

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Your brother was a wonderful man, and many thoughts are with your family at this time. RIP.

Since the 1980s, The Pogues and their music were part of my life. I am very sad to hear that Philip has gone. The world has lost an outstanding musician, a fine fellow. RIP.
I was very impressed, that all leading newspapers even here in Germany acknowledged him.

A Pilib, a chara,

Vale, Sensei, vale.

Thanks for everything, Sir. You know the particular grandmotherly kindnesses I refer to, and I look forward to meeting in the next one to repay them. Give my love to Brendan when you get there. ;)

RIP Phillip, going to miss the lovely Irish lilt. In Welsh we say "Hedd perffaith Hedd" which means "tanquility perfect tranquility" Philip i hope you have found that tranquility.
Words are inadequete.
My heartfelt condolences to friends and family.

I was in Manchester when I heard the sad news. We had just sat down for a pint outside a pub by the canal in Salford. I didn't want to write anything until today. After reading all the messages, everyone seems to have said everything I wanted to better than I ever could. Like everyone else, Philip gave me an awful lot. His love of theatre got me interested in theatre again and because of him I developed a love of playwriting. I will miss his posts on the Going to the Theatre thread (which I will try and keep going as best I can) and the forum in general.

I felt that Philip was with me yesterday, he lead us to that pub on the canal and when I got home I saw a cloud shaped like him pass over our house.

There is a hole in my heart and my life feels empty now. My birthday is five days before his and that will never be the same again.

RIP Philip. x

Lost for words, I believe this old Whisky Priests song is a more than fitting tribute to Mr Philip Chevron, a very special person and true gentleman. R I P.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

A face can hide a million secrets
A smile may tell more than it shows
While a laugh betrays a fleeting glimpse
Of memories long ago
But in the twinkling of an eye
And beneath the twinkling of the stars
The pain is gone but you remain
Forever in our hearts

To honour you with happiness
Is the least that you deserve
Let peace flow from the deepest soul
Hold nothing in reserve
Embrace each living moment
As a blessing and not a curse
And treasure each precious memory
For all that it’s worth

You were full of so much kindness
Your spirit was so divine
Nothing was ever too much for you
You could always spare the time
You inspired so much love from all
You touched so many lives
That your spirit lives on forevermore
Transcending all of time

Thank you Mr. C for all your music.
I hope you find peace now. Tonight I will raise a dozen glasses in your memory, seeing Thousands Are Sailing from Brixton'88 show.
I'm really sad.
