God Bless You Phil, I will never forget you for dedicating Thousands are Sailing to my daughter in Glasgow a few years back, You didn't have to do it and was the act of a true gentleman. I will raise a Parting Glass for you in December. It wont be the same without you. RIP.

Very, very sad news, but how appropriate that Mr C saw out both
1. His Farewell in Dublin, attended by so many loving, appreciative friends & fans
2. Setting up & posting the great news on The Forum - 'The Christmas Tour 2013'

We all be singing our hearts out to 1000s
The island it is silent now
But the ghosts still haunt the waves
And the torch lights up a famished man
Who fortune could not save

I'm a great believer that people know when the time is right, and they are ready to go - certainly looked like Phil was settled.
Condloences to all the family - cherish the memories, we all will x

Rest in peace Philip.

And we'll raise a glass to Philip Chevron and a dozen more besides..............

Edit..... Just posted this, went into a shop to get a coffee and back to the car. Turned on the radio and the dj was saying a few words about Philip and then played Thousands Are Sailing. Perfect.
