Six years ago to both the date and day that we lost Philip.

I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that I still miss him.

Six years ago, how time flies.I remember the phone calls i received on that day, everyone of them was about Philip.I hadn't cried as much since i lost my parents in 1992 & 1993. I travelled to Germany, for a Pogues tour, the day after my Mother's funeral, the band sent a lovely wreath. How i managed that particular tour,God only knows,i was in bits. The Pogues wrapped their arms around me,there was enough love from them to get me through this. All the band and crew were most kind, after one gig,in Bremen i was in the hotel bar with Philip, discussing George Formby!I don't know how that came to be,the Australian bartender thought we was talking about George Foreman! How we laughed ,and Philip, bless him, said it was good to see me smile and have a good laugh, George Formby, who would have thought?Missing you loads Philip.

It says NYC in one of the pic links. I think it's at one of the last NYC shows where Philip wore a kilt.

It's a great picture.

I'll leave it with a random quote:

Huh! Quick death my ass.

I had to wear that kensington gore all through lunch and I lacked the foresight to fall dead in a spot which would not be in the field of vision of the next 20 camera set-ups, meaning that, for the sake of continuity, I had to lie there for several days in the blazing sun as they shot around me. I used the time to commit HAMLET to memory.

Dick Rude was the man with the fatal bullet. My character was a little bit in love with his character, Willy Sims, which was why I could not shoot him but his character was a heartless boor. Ah, so much cinematic subtext on the cutting room floor! And this 20 years before BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, too!

And yes, smartass, they did bother about continuity in Straight To Hell

I do wear my "Chevron Lives" shirt every Oct 8 (wearing it now), but I've only once had somebody ask my why I'm so supportive of the Oil & Gas industry.

When I was coming back from Texas wearing a vintage POGUES 01 football jersey I had more declarations from random middle age men about their favorite band in college that it was a bit much. Like chase you to the curb declarations.

Rest in Paradise, Philip.

Deirdre O'Mahony (among other things, spouse of Phil Gaston, who - among other things - wrote "Navigator") posted possibly the sweetest picture of Philip ever yesterday, taken during a photoshoot for his Captains and Kings single, on the roof of Rock On in the early 80s when they both worked there.
