Sound City Beat on Vinyl anyone?

Shite'n'Onions who released Trouble Pilgrim in the US on vinyl a couple of years back are working on a vinyl release of Sound City Beat. It's going to be a double album with gate-fold sleeve and the full sleeve notes by Philip & Ted Carroll. Given the economics of doing a limited edition (250 copies) high quality vinyl double album Shite'n'Onions is trying to fund it as a kckstarter project - the details are here:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/135 ... -on-glorio

If your not familiar with KickStarter its a crowd funding site for artistic projects. A target amount is set to be raised to cover the cost of the project, individuals pledge amounts towards meeting the goal, If the goal is met then your credit card is charged for the amount pledged and in return you receive an "award" in this case SOUND CITY BEAT on vinyl plus other goodies. If the funding goal is not met then project is not funded and your credit card is not charged and nothing happens!!

come on people get your wallets outs
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

Pete Holidai of the Radiators posted today on Facebook -

Steve and I spent a little time with Philip this afternoon signing the posters for certain kickstarter funders who successfully funded the vinyl version of Sound City Beat due for release in October

The test pressing came back from the plant and it sounds feckin' amazing. The final vinyl is expected back in early January.

Sound City Beat Update

Sound City Beat has gone to the pressing plant. Thanks for your patience, it took much longer then expected to clear the licensing.

Update #4

Just received back the signed posters from the band. Thanks to Steve Rapid for the logistics of organizing the signings and a very special thanks to Philip Chevron - it was a big effort for Philip to sign given his health situation.

I will be finalizing the track licensing this coming week - its taken a little longer then expected - once that is done the record will go off to be pressed. Thanks for your patience

In today's post - it looks great!

Giving it a quick lunchtime spin. Behind The Painted Screen sounds as magnificent as ever, Phil Chevron's vocals beautifully expressing David Lewis's song of disenchantment.

One minor quibble - the label for 'side three' is stuck on 'side two' & vice versa !
