The inspiration?

Post Fri Oct 20, 2006 11:35 pm

Philip - I think it's time you come clean. Who has taken inspiration from whom here?

I think I can deduce that you've somehow inspired this. You go to Japan. You do some shows. Then BAM! New PVC doll of Japanese-Anime-Playboy-Bunny-Guitar-Player-"Take-My-Hand"-Girl comes out.

Coincidence? Hmmmm.

I don't know. I think I like the girl's legs better and she has a nicer rack...Sorry Phil.

BTW I finally got to play a similar guitar (the Gretsch) that phil has there, at a local Guitar Center store - I couldn't figure out why it had painted "F" holes. I thought they were real. It wasn't the "Chet Atkins" model but a similar one.

I think the look was inspired by Chevers, but the Turkish dance was definitely inspired by the sexy little Japanese girl.
What kind of fuckery is this?

The Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman has been given a much needed retirement from the road, having served honorably for over 40 years, 17 of them as a member of The Pogues. The robust young turk Gibson Chet Atkins Tennessean has taken its place and has already displayed the unfailing good humour of its predecessor. The Gretsch looks forward to twilight years where it will occasionally have its strings tickled in front of a cosy fireside, perhaps even venturing boldly into recording studios now and then, but no longer forced to suffer the harsh indignities of airport baggage handlers, freight carriers, rock n roll trucking and homeland security. It will now no longer object to being called an "antique".

Please notify me immediately Phil, if you choose to sell the Gretsch. I'll give it a good home. I promise!! 8)
