Hello friends
As may you already know, the Radiators are currently recording their 4th studio album, a set of cover versions of records from the great Irish beat groups, garage bands and blues combos of the 1960s - think Nuggets meets Pin-Ups.
The band has been financing this album through a public funding website, Fundit.ie. The recording budget is just over 11,000 Euros. So far, they have raised 15% of this, with just 18 days to go - the funding window is open only until Monday June 27th. The sting is this - unless the band raises all of the target money, it receives none of it!
For amounts of €10, €30, €50, €100, €250 and €1000, with an incrementally rising scale of Rewards, you can play a part in the funding of this historic and entertaining album. For the purpose of comparison, today 10 Euros = 9 UK Pounds = 15 US Dollars.
Full details of the album and of the Rewards scheme are available at this link:
http://www.fundit.ie/project/amusements-album-projectBefore the worldwide success of rock bands from the 1980s onwards, the story of Irish rock started much more modestly, in tennis clubs and blues cellars in Dublin and Belfast. For the first time, the Radiators will tell this story with their customary flair, paying homage, in the process, to Skid Row, The Movement, The Creatures, Thin Lizzy, Orange Machine, Horslips, Peter Adler and The Next In Line, Granny's Intentions, The Blue Aces, Taste, The Strangers, The Editions, Andwella's Dream, The Eire Apparent, Sugar Shack, Ditch Cassidy and The King Bees and Bluesville.
Please help get this album made and do pass this on to anyone you think may be interested. Remember: The deadline for contributions on Fundit's secure website is Monday, June 27!
Kind regards
Philip Chevron, for The Radiators
