"I Like the rice!"

Post Wed May 13, 2009 6:29 pm

The other night I was sitting down to dinner with the family with some music playing low in the background. All of a sudden my 2.5 year old son started singing/shouting, "I like the rice! I like the rice!" and doing a little dance in his chair. What was peculiar about this was that we were not having rice that evening. Shortly thereafter he starting doing it again, but then "corrected" himself to sing/shout, "I got the rice! I got the rice!" That's when I realized he was singing along with the music! Television Screen was playing on the stereo

Television Screen came on the other day while I was driving in the car with my wife, son, and the wife's parents. Soon after, we arrived at our destination so I shut the car off in the middle of the song. Aidan started shouting, "I like that song! that's the rice song! I want to hear that song!"

This was all the more gratifying since my mother in law seems to only like elevator music or Andrea Bocelli played at a low enough level that you can't really hear it; and never in the car.

Philip, a few tweaks to your lyrics and you could bastardize your songs to make millions on the kid's music circuit
