We've mucked around with it at soundchecks, it got mooted for Hell's Ditch and maybe something else. But no, we never "performed" it as such.

Ballad of the Faithful Departed

Post Mon Jul 21, 2008 4:07 pm

Hi Phil
Not meaning too sound morbid (promise) however would just like to say in this world of songs replacing hymns at funerals for many years now I have a copy of my will hiding away with a request for the 'Ballad of the Faithful Departed' to be played. Ever since I heard the lyrics "and they'll bury you upright so the sun doesnt blind you" etc it sent a shiver down my spine. And yes you've guessed it I have also aksed to be buried like this! Only 39 so hopefully a few years off yet, but thanks for such an incredible song!

Always pleased to be useful in the matter of transition or transformation - from youth to maturity, from wisdom to innocence, from drunken sobriety to abstemious joyfulness, from life to death, all the important stuff................
