I don't understand this, Heather. The copies reached the Ace warehouse early last week - I have one myself - and there's no reason at all they should be delayed. Sounds like a clerical cockup. Why not cancel the order and order it again?

Took your advice and tried this, still says delivery after 29/11/2007.

Think I'll just have to wait.

Ok, I'll investigate.

Yep, amazon.co.uk are saying "Usually dispatched within 4 to 6 weeks".
And according to play.com the album's being released on 5th November. Might get it quicker from there.

All very strange.

Estimated arrival date is now 7th November. :D

Philip, I don't know if you had something to do with this, but if you did, thanks, you're a star. 8)

Amazon USA is now saying the release date is a disappointing December 11. This is, I think, the third time it's been pushed back.

Order it from Amazon.co.uk. I use both sites all the time.

It was well worth the wait.

I love it, it doesn't matter now that I had so much trouble getting it.

My favourite songs are Second Avenue, Joe Strummer, Heaven, Words, The Dark At The Top of the Stairs, Hugenot and A Package from Home, which sounds like something Christy Moore might sing.

What a great album.

it finally arrived, and Heather is so right--a great album. She, though, is more decisive than I. She has favorites. I hear a song and it's my favorite for both music and lyrics. But then the next one is my favorite, and on and on.

All I know is I have several songs stuck simultaneously in my head, which I never thought was possible.

Now I have two albums to play: Ghostown and Trouble Pilgrim.

Thank you Heather and Aine. I'm pretty sure Trouble Pilgrim will stand the test of time, as Ghostown did before it. My own favourite song changed all the time while we were recording, always a good sign.

There are a number of thematic links and small motifs scattered around the album, which may explain the retention in the mind of several numbers at once. Lyrical too - there is actually at least one direct steal from Beckett which, because it in such a non-Beckettian context, nobody has yet noticed. If/when the listener gets it, it adds another layer to the song's "meaning". Fun and games for all with The Radiators!
