AV festival at Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and Middlesbrough

"...........JEM FINER: SLOWPLAYER
The Pogues like to live life in the fast lane but one ex-member of the band, Jem Finer, likes to slow things down.
Throughout the month of the festival he will play a different LP every day on a special record player.
You can pop into the NewBridge Project space on Newcastle’s New Bridge Street to hear the Finer treatment applied to a range of composers, from Ravel to the Sex Pistols.
Say the AV Festival organisers: “At extreme slow speeds, the spin of a record player is reduced to a glacial crawl, the music to seismic rumbling.
“A beat may last a minute and the tiny slices of silence between them become ambient voids.”................."quote http://www.journallive.co.uk/culture-ne ... 0144916/2/
