Thanks for the heads up. Listening to the tracks now...

Lou Reed ohne New York. Nick Cave ohne Heroinerfahrung.

Who put the cunt in Cuntrey“. Es treibt einem Freudentränen in die Augen, wenn DM Bob und Jem Finer das Stück „Your heating charm (sic)“ (edit: It's called "Your Heat'n Chart") aus der Feder des eher obskuren Künstlers Wank Hilliams ankündigen. Echte Größe zeigt Jem Finer, als er ein Kornett herauszieht („I believe it‘s a trumpet“) und gesteht, er habe nachmittags erstmals 15 Minuten lang auf dem gerade erworbenen Instrument gespielt. Dafür trifft er erstaunlich viele Töne.

Google entertainingly suggests:

Tuebingen.
J.J. Cale, from the Oklahoma-born guitarist, sat benchmarks, which are nonchalance. The brotfertigste drums all times possessed Sulla Bradtke, the former Schwoißfuaß-drummers. - Somewhere between attitude and Abgefucktheit, garnished with a good pinch of boundless humor moves "DM (German Mark) Bob" Tooke. The live in Hamburg Americans is mainly musicians and painters. Incidentally, he has the boxing Klitschko brothers taught English.

His self-built and painted drums is the 40 listeners already admission into Epplehaus worth: It consists of two wooden crates, the DM Bob served with the feet. The larger serves as a bass drum, the smaller - with a metal foil covered - as a snare drum.

At the same time the Americans played distorted guitar and harmonica and he occasionally sings, usually together with his congenial partner Jem Finer. The multi (guitar, lap steel, banjo) has once the Pogues, and so the Irish folk-punk, co-founded. Finer recently built a device that is self-composed by environmental influences benefits. Crazy, but true.

In the evening, the local Filthy Cowboy Sunset, loud keys man Frank Allmendinger, the "slowest band Tübingen". Or to put it with an audience to say: "Nouvelle Vague without sex. Lou Reed without New York. Nick Cave heroin without experience. But still good. "

Then ergießt are good mood-Swamp-pop, a mix of bluegrass, blues, Cajun and Tex-Mex DM Bob Epplehaus ins. For pieces like "I like to play baseball," or "Barbecue Bob" will mainly white Südstaatler her fat away. As is Schrammel plucked obliquely sung and strong gejodelt, about the third piece "Who put the cunt in Cuntrey." It pushes a joy tears in his eyes when DM Bob and Jem Finer the song "Your heating charm (sic)" (edit: It's called "Your Heat'n Chart") from the pen of the more obscure artist Wank Hilliam announce. Size shows real Jem Finer, when he was a cornet herauszieht ( "I Believe It'sa trumpet") and confesses that he had first afternoon for 15 minutes on the instrument played just acquired. That makes it surprising many tones.

Somehow it makes much more sense when heard. I can halfway understand the spoken language, so I thought I'd give Amazon.com.de a go and order the new album... the page layout is the same, but I hadn't a clue as to what any of it said. I wasn't sure I'd even ordered it, until I got the email confirmation. Yikes! Postage from Germany to the US is steep!

I know, but I'm "old fashioned" that way. Okay, I'm just old. Dated. I still have a turntable. I like to have the album artwork. 8)

Country-Trash with lots of humor!

DM Bob und Jem Finer played the Epplehaus, Tübingen.
Bob Tooke from Louisiana is the grand master of garage-rock. English man Jem Finer was the co-founder oft he Pogues. Together they are on of the greatest two-man bands!

Image
Did Pat Cash und John McEnroe changed their tennis rackets for stringed instruments? No, this is DM Bob on the left and Pogues co-founder „Country“ Jem Finer on the right. […]

Oklahoma native J.J. Cale set standards for coolness. The craziest drumset was owned by swabian drummer Sulla Bradtke of the rockgroup “Schwoissfuass”. With a good pinch of great humor “DM (Deutsch Mark) Bob” Tooke moves somewhere between attitude and being fucked up. The American musician lives in Hamburg as a musician and painter. By the way, it was DM Bob who taught the boxing Klitschko brothers the English language

Watching his homemade and painted drumset is already worth the admission paid by ca. 40 listeners! It consists of two wooden boxes, which DM Bob plays with his feet. The larger box serves as a bass drum, the smaller one is covered with a metal foil and serves as a snare drum.
At the same time he plays a guitar using lots of effects. He also plays the harmonica and he usually shares the lead vocals with the amazing Jem Finer. Jem is multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, lap steel, banjo and a cornet. […] Recently artist Jem Finer build a installation called “Score for a hole in the ground (http://www.scoreforaholeintheground.com).

[passage about the support act]

Then the high-spirits-Swamp-Pop (a mixture of Bluegrass, Blues, Cajun and Tex Mex) begins. It’s songs like “I like to play baseball” or “Barbecue Bob” that take the piss out of the white American Southerns. There is strumming, singing off the key and strong yodel. The yodeling can be heard in third song of the evening “Who put the cunt in Cuntrey”. There’s tears of joy in the eyes when DM Bob and Jem Finer introduce the song "Your Heat'n Chart" written by “Wank Williams”. Jem shows his talent when he picks up a cornet („I believe it‘s a trumpet“) and confesses that he only bought it this afternoon and played on it only for 15 minutes. Keeping these facts in mind he plays it pretty well!
