Faber meet-n-greet

Post Thu Mar 28, 2013 8:40 pm

James passes this along:

Ten years since the launch of iTunes, six years since the first UK Record Store Day, this April 2nd, in collaboration with Rough Trade Shops, Faber Social will be all about Vinyl.

Pete Paphides (BBC 6 Music's Vinyl Revival) will spin some records and host some chat.

Travis Elborough will take us on a trip through 60 years of recording history reading from his book The Long-Player Goodbye.

A panel of industry experts including Jude Rogers and Spencer Hickman will wax lyrical about the life and love of vinyl

Simon Reynolds will read from his new update of Energy Flash: A Journey Through Rave Music and Dance Culture

One of the Pogues' founding members and accordion player James Fearnley will read from his story of the band’s life Here Comes Everybody.

Workin' Man Noise Unit will play a live set of tantrum rock. Put the needle on the record.

“I know all those people that were in the film [...] But that’s when they were young and strong and full of life, you know?”
