Matt Freeman is for sure a bass player I admire. Seeing & hearing him play "Maxwell Murder" live is amazing!! I'm trying to learn "Hyena" now & having trouble with that. "Journey to the End" is fun to play.

and so is "Time Bomb"
I learnt to play bass with "...And out come the wolves". Fuckin' difficult, but in the end I became pretty good. Pity now I'm half the bassist I used to be years ago.
Then they'll take you to Cloughprior
Shove you in the ground
But you'll stick your head back out and shout
"Let's have another round!"

Yeah that whole album is fun to play, but hard to learn. For me it is anyway. "Old Friend" & "olympia, WA" are 2 other favs of mine to (try to)play.

I really love Lloyd Brevett and his style of bass playing. I had the luck of seeing him live many times. The last thing I heard of him was that he was forming his own skatalites.. :?
Last wednesday I saw Lee rocker play live. Now THAT is playing a bass.. Playing a bass is easy, but playing it like that is almost imposible..
